Description
This is a wonderful collection of important photographs, autographs, and memorabilia from the late 80's and early 90's, a notable era in thorobred racing.  These seven subjects were photographed by the well known horse racing photographer, Jim Steins, and were selected for the importance of the subject and the artistic quality of the photographs.  These are large pieces.  The outside dimensions of the frames are 25" X 21".  They were recently beautifully re-framed and are double matted. This collection would make a wonderful display in any office, den, conference room, or hallway.  For the price of one oil painting, you could decorate a whole office with this wonderful collection.  Descriptions of the items are as follows: 1. Fantastic picture of Laffit Pincay walking with "trainer" Bill Shoemaker reviewing a just run race.  I believe this won an Eclipse Award for the photographer and it is hand signed by Laffit Pincay Jr.  At the time this was added to the collection, there were only four signed copies in existence.  This one, Jim Stein's, Laffit's, and a lady in Laguna Beach.  Since then I believe Laffit's sister asked him to autograph one for her and I believe he has signed some more, but I'm not sure. 2. Bill Shoemaker's last ride - Santa Anita, Feb 3, 1990.  I was there that day and this item includes a win ticket for him riding "Patchy Groundfog" mounted in the frame also. 3. Mr. Frisky ties Citation's record of 16 wins in a row - Santa Anita Derby, 1990, hand signed by jockey Gary Steven's. 4. Dinard winning Santa Anita Derby1991 - Chris McCarron up. 5. Sunday Silence winning Santa Anita Derby, 1989, Patrick Valenzuela up.  Won two triple crown races and the Breeder's Cup Classic in 1989. 6. Best Pal winning Norfolk Stakes - Patrick Valenzuela up. 7. Go For Wand winning Juvenile Filly, Breeder's Cup, 1989.  Named 3 year old champion filly in 1990, won 10 of 13 starts for 1.37 million.  Tragic fatal breakdown in Breeder's Cup, 1990 racing against Bayakoa.  Inducted into the Hall of Fame, 1996. I would prefer that the buyer of this collection pick them up at my home in Southern California, however, I can ship to the continental U.S. only.  The shipping price indicated would be the high end and was estimated by my local Aim Mail Center.  I can probably save some money on that and would only charge the actual freight and supplies and would refund the difference to you thru Paypal.  If the packaging and freight is more than $180, I will cover it.  If it's less, I will refund the difference to you via Paypal.  A receipt from the mail center will be provided in either case. Don't let this one time collection get away!
