1932 olympic programs Start Price USD 5.00 Current Price USD 26.00 Time Left - Bid Count 5 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, July 04, 2008 End Time Friday, July 11, 2008 Location Campbell, NE See more about '1932 olympic programs' Description This is 2 official programs from the Xth Olympiad that was held in Los Angeles.  One is from thursday August 4, 1932 and the other is Wed August 3, 1932.  there is a picture of president Herbert Hoover on the 2nd page.  The summary states that in the Olympic Stadium would be held the Walk, Pole Vault, Discus Hurdles and Meters.  In the Olympic auditorium would be the Wrestling and in the Rose Bowl the Cycling and in the Olympic Park Armory the Fencing.  It gives the names and numbers of Contestants and lots of stories about the events.  The August 4th one has Field Hockey, more meters and hurdles, Javelin, Fencing,  Greco- roman wresting and cycling and in the Shooting Range,  Shooting.  It also give the names and numbers of the atheletes.  Some interesting stories and pictures.  The cost 10 cents each and are in pretty good condition.  Slight smudges on the covers.  How the lady who had these also had an interesting story.  They were working on the Lincoln Hwy through Nebraska and her Dad said that if they had the road all paved by the time of the Olympics he was going to drive from Omaha to Los Angeles to attend and the Highway was done and he and his wife drove out.  Remember this was 1932.  My friend who is now 98 yrs old got married in 1931 and so was not able to go along with her folks but that is how she obtained these programs.  Also listed is the official football program, which they tell me was the only football game played at an Olympic event.  Please email me any questions about condition or what is in the booklets and I will do my best to answer them.
