Description
1952 Kentucky Derby Glass is 5 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter at the upper rim. It is made from a crystal glass that is clear and smooth on the inside and the bottom, and has a frosted finish allover on the outside. On front it features a decal scene all in brown or gold, and has a figural of the trophy awarded to the winner of the race, and 'Kentucky Derby Gold Cup' under it. On the back, starting at the upper rim of the glass and going all the way down to the foot of the glass is the story of the trophy, and it's all done in capital block letters. The glass is signed on the bottom with the capital cursive "L" in a circle, the mark for Libby, the makers of the glass. About 1/2" above the base of the glass on the front, straight down from the letter 'L' in 'Gold' there's a pinpoint nick, it's just enough to make the frosted part look clear. Other than that the glass is mint, there's no kind of wear to the glass, no kind of wear or fading to any of the lettering or front decal, it looks like it's never been used at all. It should still make an excellent addition to any Kentucky Derby collection. Shipping not included.
