Item No. CE00309 Introduction of ShaoShan 9G type Co-Co Electric Locomotive The 9G type electric locomotive is a development of the earlier locomotives in the ShaoShan series. As a result the 9G Type is the most powerful electric locomotive in China. The 9G produces 4800kW continuous power but will produce a maximum of 5400kW. It normally operates at speeds between 99 and 160 km/h but has a top speed of 170 km/h. The 9G is fitted with advanced traction motors and a suspension system capable of producing a quality ride at 170 km/h. By using aerodynamic design and light weight components, the overall axle load of 21 tons is achieved.
