This auction is for his complete set of original photographs taken that day. The photographs were acquired directly from the magazine by me. Outside of the magazine, I am the only person to ever own them. The negatives no longer exist. I have communicated with Mr. Yulsman's widow (photo editor for the Associated Press) regarding the negatives. She told me Mr. Yulsman did not keep his negatives or slides and confirmed the negatives do not exist.       There are thirteen 8 x 10 original, black and white prints. Each is protected in its own plastic sleeve. Two of the 8 x 10 prints are contact sheets showing all the exposures taken by Yulsman that day. He highlighted in red the eleven exposures to be printed. Of the eleven 8 x 10 portraits printed, only three were published in the magazine. They are the three photographs at the top of the group picture below. The other eight photographs remain unpublished to this day. All eleven prints have “Cassius Clay” and the photographer’s official stamp on the back. The three photographs published in the magazine have a sticker with the issue, date and page number on their sleeve. On their back is written the date, issue and sequence each is to appear in the magazine. All of the prints are in excellent condition. The two brown spots you see at the top of the group photo is from my camera flash. The ripples you see at the bottom are from the plastic sleeve the photograph is in, not the photograph.          Payment must be made by PayPal or Money Order.
