Description
NOTE: I have a number of track & field athletics & Olympic books currently on eBay & will be adding others on an almost daily basis some of which may be scarce or rare - check out my other items for full list.  The item on offer here is: - Kiwis Can Fly.   Written by Ivan Agnew.   Published by Marketforce Ltd (Auckland).   1976.   205 pages.   Hardback in dustjacket.    Apart from few minor faults, book & jacket are generally in good clean condition. This book is about the new generation of New Zealand runners who followed in the footsteps of the 1960s greats, Peter Snell & Murray Halberg.    The first few chapters describe the achievements to date of each of the runners, Dave McKenzie, Dick Quax, Rod Dixon, Richard Taylor & John Walker.    The book then follows the New Zealanders during their 1975 tour of Europe which culminated in John Walker's World mile record of 3:49.4.   The Author was well placed to record the inside story as he accompanied the runners throughout the tour.  The book also records the performances of many other World class runners including Filbert Bayi, Mike Boit, Marty Liquori, Brendan Foster, Dave Bedford, Emiel Puttemans, Lasse Viren, Anders Gaderud, Frank Shorter & Ian Stewart.    Well illustrated with b&w photos.   Athletics - Track & Field - Marathon Running - Olympic Games Payment may be made in British or US funds by personal cheque.   Payment by Paypal (British pounds only) for immediate shipping.    Postal insurance optional.
