Description
This auction is for the best card I have in my collection.... I pulled this in 2006 myself in a local card shop and was immediately breathless..... I carefully put this in the 2 1/4 " screw down case you see in the scan (the back scan is hard to see because back of case is thick and scanner can't see it well and digital camera has alot of glare with die cut stuff on front and shinny factory authenticating stickers on back).. i handled the card as if I were glueing on a model car mirror. I have not once removed it from it's case and didn't want to just to get a good shot of the perfect back. The card is in as close to mint as an ungraded card could be concidering the care i took to preserve the card in pack fresh condition. I was going to have it graded but with no job and cost of card grading on the rise i couldn't afford it. I've done research on the card and it's rarity... It's one of, if not the rarest card you could pull from the high end 2006 Topps Finest product which now costs around $15-$20 a pack or more...? The 1/1 Superfractor Auto Rookie Cards were made in an extremely low amount and your odds of pulling another superfractor auto rc is 1 in 33,500+ mini boxes, or 1 in over 200,000 packs!! There were only like a dozen rookies who had the illusive 2006 Topps Finest AUTO SUPERFRACTOR 1/1 rookie card made for them that year, most of which tanked out.... unlike JOEY DEVINE! Joey Devine was a first round draft pick and coined "closer of tomorrow" for the Braves in 2005. He played in the minors most of 2006 and 2007 posting good numbers there. He did get a few call ups here and there in 2006 and 2007 which turned out perhaps premature. But! This year in 2008 he was traded for an all-star center fielder in Mark Kotsay of the Oakland A's which the braves needed badly. In Oakland Devy was given a real chance to settle in and show his stuff.... as a result he posted some of the best numbers EVER by a rookie pitcher and most likely earned himself the closer spot on the ever evolving A's pitching staff. Here's the numbers for 2008: 6-1 / .59 ERA / 42 games/ 1 save/ 2 save opp./ 45.2 innings/ 23 hits/ 7 runs/ 3 Earned runs/ 0 homeruns/ 15 walks/ 49 strikeouts Devine finished the season with a 6-1 record and a 0.59 ERA. That's the lowest single-season ERA in Major League history (since ERA began being recorded in 1912) for a pitcher with a minimum of 40 innings. He moved ahead of A's Dennis Eckersley, who had a 0.61 ERA in 73 1/3 innings as Oakland's closer in 1990. Bottom line is this card is one the rarest modern day cards produced! It's of a superstar calibor "lights-out" pitcher (closer of tomorrow). I could only imagine his base card auto's in this set will go up significantly in the next issue of Beckett. This Card is a REAL PACK PULLED 1/1 Autographed Rookie Card.... with real significants now that records have been broken. Buy this card before someone else!! I'm sure after this seasons turn out once it sells it won't find it's way onto the market for some time. Good Luck Bidding. And WAY TO GO JOEY!! side note*- i recently saw a youtube video with mickey mantles sons talking about how they don't have a rookie card of their father and how one of the brothers had the chance but passed up on it only to regret it later years later. I feel this auction is not limited to just collectors, or merchants, but maybe even Joey Devine himself as a family heirloom..... :) ..... so if anyone who sees this auction knows Joey Devine, just let him know I think he should buy it! :) buyers info kept private!GL and happy bidding! NO RESERVE!! BID TO WIN! REVISION: I got a lucky shot of the back of the card with my camera after like 20 tries, so i added the nice shot of the back and took the useless photo out.... thanks again for looking and good luck bidding..... REVISION#2: Lowered price buy20%!!!! now $1000 cheaper!!! a little over a day left and no bids..... so.... bid!! plz.... and see the other auctions I added today, one is an absolute must see!!!!
