Description
One of a kind hand drawn india ink Original Art for the "Sporting News" 1960 end of year Special issue ! Not a print or reproduction ! Unconditionally guaranteed authentic and as described ! No hidden reserve ! 13" x 14 " thin art board has 10 1/4" x 10 1/2" india ink image area with Classic boxing scene of Floyd Patterson knocking out Ingemar Johansson on June 20, 1960 to become the first heavyweight boxer in history to win back the title. Cartoonist Olderman has drawn himself into the scene, saying "Kind of leaves you flat huh " as he looks at Ingo on the canvas. Art is titled" A blow to remember" in light blue pencil at top margin edge. Boldly signed "Murray Olderman" at the lower left . Condition : Lower left corner has 1/2" glue stain, otherwise art is Excellent. Art came from "The Sporting News Archives" auction held by Mastro several years ago.
