Description
Ouimet, to the right of center next to his young caddy, Eddie Lowery, walks with spectators during the 1913 United States Open at The Country Club in Brookline. Ouimet, an amateur, would beat professionals Harry Vardon and Ted Ray of England, considered the best golfers in the world, to help establish golf as a popular sport in America. This picture was taken by Edmunds E. Bond at the actual tournament in 1913. THIS IS NOT A STILL FROM THE MOVIE! The original is from the E. E. Bond Collection of the Boston Public Library. This is a new, archival quality giclee print, 16" x 20" reproduction (sepia). It is bagged in clear cellophane and has a loose foam core backer. Basic information is printed along the bottom of the picture, including the date, title and source.
