The handles are made of red Catalin with gold Olympic logos.  The ferrules and blades are firmly attached to the handles and nothing is loose or wobbly.  The leather sheath is also in excellent condition with no rips, tears or damage and written near the top is "Made in Finland".The larger knife measures 5 1/2" long and the shorter one is 3 1/4". To my way of thinking, these are a big step up from the wooden handle models, much more interesting having a certain jewel-like quality.
