Description *********** FOLLOW SHAWN'S OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL JOURNEY FROM THE LENS OF HER HOMETOWN NEWSPAPER, THE DES MOINES REGISTER! *********** This is a HUGE collection including two commemorative posters and approximately 62 newspaper features.   It is also rare and unique as it consists entirely of clippings from Shawn's hometown paper!  Perfect for the avid Shawn Johnson fan or Olympic Gymnastic enthusiast!  The two pictures in my listing are a sampling; additional images to follow.  The collection begins with a September 2007 commemorative poster (pictured) from Shawn's win at the 2007 world championships.  It continues with DM Register coverage from Jan - Aug 2008 of Shawn at the American Cup, the National Championships, pre-Olympic training & preparation, life as an elite gymnast, and of course the Olympic Games!  It concludes with an August 2008 commemorative poster (pictured) and a feature about her August 26th welcome-home event in Des Moines that drew 7,000 people. Item Count: 2 commemorative posters 43 features with photos/articles about Shawn, several also include fellow US Gymastics team members, many of the photos are large!  Two of these features contain full-page posters of Shawn, so you are actually getting 4 posters with this collection. 16 items consisting of photos only (such as a large front page photo), or smaller articles (w/ photos) that reference Shawn 3 features primarily about her coach or his gym, which also contain references to & photos of Shawn Shipping (revised 9/1):   I will only ship the newspaper sheets that contain the posters/photos/articles.  Note:  Some of the sheets consist of two pages (for example, the front & back pages of a section are on one sheet).  So if, for example, the feature is on the front page but not the back page, I will not cut or pull the pages apart.  This avoids the risk of cutting or tearing the feature itself.   On Sep-03-08 at 05:49:13 PDT, seller added the following information:  ++++++++++++Revisions added on 9/3++++++++++++ Add'l pictures added.  The 5 pictures in this listing as of 9/3 are still a sampling, representing two-thirds of the items included in this collection!  All 4 posters are pictured.  Many of the front page features have additional photos & text on the inside, which are not pictured and do not count as separate items, but they are included in the collection.  There is one duplicate item in these pictures:  the DM Sunday Register top-of-page photo "Two straight for Johnson" is mistakenly included in both the 1st and 5th pictures.  Slight adjustment to item count:  The initial description indicated there were "two commemorative posters and approximately 62 newspaper features."  I did a recount & found a duplicate copy of one feature.   The correct description is two commemorative posters & 61 newspaper features, and the second line of the item count should list "42 features with photos/articles...," not 43.    Also, there are actually 5 features about Shawn's coach or his gym, but two of them are in the same newspaper section as an entirely separate article or photo about Shawn.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.  Thanks!    On Sep-06-08 at 18:19:08 PDT, seller added the following information:If buyer prefers to receive the entire section of paper that each feature is in (for example the entire Sports section), instead of just the sheets from that section which contain the posters/photos/articles as described above, I can do this.  I've been advised that some buyers may prefer this option.  Buyer can request this option for the entire collection (with the exception of 1 small feature) or for selected papers only (such as Olympic week).  If buyer chooses this option, the shipping cost may increase, due to added weight.  If buyer does not choose this option, I'll ship the collection as originally described & the shipping cost will remain as advertised.   (You'll receive some Sports sections in their entirety due to feature size/placement, regardless.)  I'll check with the buyer after the auction concludes.
