BROOKSBY Pt3. 1882' Description CAVENDISH & GREYGOOSE Concentrating on Quality not Quantity   This is an interesting little book from 1882 being the third collection of descriptive articles (originally published in 'The Field' in 1880) of various hunt countries in Great Britain. Ideal for those searching ebay for words like: Hunting, Fox hunting, Foxhunting, Hounds, Fox hounds, Foxhounds etc. The descriptions were written by (nom de plume) 'Brooksby' and the book is published by Horace Cox of 346, The Strand London WC.  It is measures 12cm x 18cm x 1.25cm, has 465 pages and contains articles on twenty hunts / packs of hounds, many of which are now defunct.  The list of hunts is: The Dulverton.  The Stars of the West.  Mr Lutterell's.  Lord Portsmouth's.  The Essex and Essex Union.  The Hertfordshire.   The Whaddon Chase.  The Blackmoor Vale The Vale of the White Horse.  The Cheshire and South Cheshire.  The Cambridgeshire. The Duke of Grafton's.  The Holderness.  The Oakley.  The North Herefordshire.  The Duke of Buccleuch's.  The Tynedale.  Lord Percy's.  The Morpeth.  The Rufford. It also has a few fantastic period advertisements for hunting related items.  It's wonderful to read how the Victorian's viewed your hunt country and how it has changed.
