Big and very loud, pull down on the lever and the brass trip hammer slams into the upper shoulder of the cast metal bell. The wear on the face of the hammer shows it's been around a long time. Marked: KEIL & SONS on the back. The frame appears to be cast iron with brass moving parts. The bell itself is mounted to a rod extending from the frame and held in place with an ornate finial. Frame measures about  13 1/2" high by 12" wide by 5" deep. The bell is a full  12"  in diameter by 3" deep. Figure on using a wall space of  15"  square by 7"  deep. In good shape, very USED, some surface marks and signs of age and use. Still going strong and works about as well as it ever did. NOTE: A large and heavy assembly.  Shipping weight is approximately 21 lbs.  This will be an OVERSIZED package with correspondingly higher postage rate.
